Although Cyberpunk 2077 launched in pretty rough shape earlier last year, CD Projekt Red has been working on fixing numerous bugs of the title. If you’re looking to get some new contents for the title, then you’ll be disappointed to know that gamers will need to wait quite a long time as the game’s first expansion won’t be coming out until sometime later next year.
While CD Projekt Red a ton of praise for its work on Witcher 3, the company has burned a lot of good will with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 in December of 2020. The game was riddled with bugs that made the title unplayable. The entire situation is pretty disappointing considering the game went through a long development cycle and Witcher 3’s success only added to the hype for the title. Despite the difficulties of the game, the game is now at pretty good spot and expectations for the first expansion are pretty high at the moment.
As it was mentioned in @CDPROJEKTRED_IR financial call moments ago, Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming expansion will arrive in 2023. Please stay tuned for more details coming later this year 🦾 https://t.co/rq1w6RDTDL

As mentioned earlier, Cyberpunk 2077 is perfectly playable now and the game will receive several patches before the first expansion releases later next year. According to the company’s CEO Adam Kicinski, update 1.6 will be out in the “coming months”.
The studio is currently looking to shift its development priorities. For instance, the Cyberpunk 2077’s ongoing support staff has been slashed to a fraction of what it was at launch. At the moment more development resources have been allocated to CD Projekt’s other, unannounced titles.
