Vivo tend to use ‘X’ prefix for the company’s flagship smartphones such as Vivo X70 Pro+ and the X70 Pro. While we’ll need to wait to get official confirmation from the company, it seems that Vivo is currently planning on launching an entirely new range of large-screen phablets.
The news comes thanks to a leak from popular leaker Whylab who came across a listing for the model on the official store. Although the page was taken down quickly, the smartphone’s specifications are on part with an expensive flagship smartphone. However, the 7-inch screen of the smartphone stands out the most as companies have moved away from producing phablets over last couple of years.
The 7-inch display will be using Samsung-made E5 AMOLED panel that supports QHD+ resolution. Unsurprisingly, the leaks indicate that the display integrates an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner similar to the ones used on the Samsung Galaxy flagships and Vivo’s own iQOO 8 Pro.
As for internals, the smartphone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and with two storage/RAM options. These configurations include a base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, followed by a top variant that features 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage.
Whylab also noted that the upcoming smartphone will use the same primary camera sensor we saw in the Vivo X70 Pro+ as well as in the Google Pixel 6 Pro. Although the leaked image shows three more cameras, the details of the camera setup isn’t available just yet.
Thanks to the larger size, the smartphone is likely to come with a larger battery of 5,000 mAh capacity. Although the size of the battery is on the larger size, it’ll be interesting to check the battery’s performance considering the large screen size.
Although the company hasn’t revealed the official launch date, it’s likely that the smartphone will be available from next month. As we get closer to the launch, we should learn more about the smartphone.
