Social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter want you to spend as much as possible on their platform due to increased ad revenue. However, in case of Twitter, if you want to check out a YouTube video on the platform, you’ll need to leave the platform. In order to keep the users on the platform, Twitter is currently working on a new feature that’ll allow users to watch YouTube videos shared by others without leaving the platform.
In an official announcement earlier today, Twitter revealed that the company is currently testing out YouTube integration on the website. When the feature goes live, users will be able to play video within their feed similar to the videos that are shared by other users.
Sometimes it’s better said with a picture or a video. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be testing some ways to improve how you can share and view media on Twitter. 👀

Twitter revealed that the company will start testing out the feature on iOS app first. Given the feature will improve the user experience, it’s likely that the feature will make its way to other platforms. However, it’s unclear when the new feature will be available for users to check out as the company hasn’t confirmed a release date.
