Microsoft has unveiled several new features as part of the March 2021 update. In case you didn’t know, Teams displays is a smart display that runs Teams as an operating system, allowing users to make calls and join meetings on the service.
Thanks to the latest update, Cortana will become more powerful as users will now be able to search web for you. For instance, you can ask it questions about the time or weather and share them with others. However, Microsoft is releasing the support in selected regions. If you are using the device in Canada, Australia, the UK, and India and in English, you’ll be able to use the new feature.
Apart from better integration with Cortana, you can now use replaceable backgrounds during a meeting. While the feature has been available for Teams for desktop PCs since 2019, it’s good to see that the device is getting support for the feature as well. With it, you can blur or completely replace the background of a video feed with a selection of included images. Apart from these, you can use live reactions during meetings.
Lastly, you’ll be able to add AI-based quick responses with the latest update. Whenever you get a message in chat, the display will suggest a response based on what another person has said. Thanks to the feature, you can now send a response by tapping it rather than typing it out completely.
