There hasn’t been any shortage of rumors ahead of Apple’s upcoming April events. Although several reports have claimed that Apple might introduce refresh AirPods during the event, it seems that it’s unlikely as a reliable leaker has revealed that Apple is currently planning on releasing AirPods 3 sometime later this year rather than in next month.
During a recent podcast, Jon Prosser admitted that he was wrong with March event but the latest information comes from a reliable source. While we’ll have to wait to find out if Prosser’s claims are accurate, the latest leaks are similar to the report from Ming-Chi Kuo who recently stated that Apple will launch AirPods 3 in the second half of 2021.
The rumors aren’t particularly surprising considering it’s been several years since Apple refreshed AirPods. However, given Kuo’s history of releasing reliable information, it seems that we won’t be getting an AirPods refresh after all. At the moment however, there aren’t any concrete information on Apple’s plans regarding the AirPods series. Rumors for a while have suggested that Apple is working on AirPods Lite that will be in between for the AirPods and AirPods Pro.
However, we haven’t heard anything about the model for a long time now and it’s likely that the rumors weren’t particularly accurate. As we’re just days away from Apple’s April event, we should know more about the company’s future product lineup.
