According to reports, Apple has overestimated its iPhone 11 mini by significant margin and as a result, the company is cutting down the planned production of the smartphone for the first half of the year.
Nikkei claims that Apple has cut orders by about 20 percent from the company’s initial plans of December. At the time, Apple told suppliers to secure components and parts for up to 96 million smartphones for the first 6 months of 2021. However, the company is now targeting production of around 75 million units which is slightly higher than the iPhone shipments during the same period of last year.
According to sources, the company still wants to produce 230 million iPhones for 2021 but as of now, has requested several vendors to temporarily stop producing mini-specific components.
