As streaming services have become extremely popular over last couple of years, it’s not surprising to see that companies are pushing new products to enter the market. Interestingly, TiVo is the first major company to unveil its TiVo Stream 4K device to compete with products from other companies such as Google, Amazon and Roku.
As the streaming market is pretty saturated at this point, TiVo has partnered with Sling TV to provide customers better viewing experience. TiVo has revealed that the network will be the preferred source for subscription meaning the content will be integrated into TiVo’s universal search. Moreover, when the product becomes available, consumers will experience integration between the Sling app and TiVo’s voice remote that will allow users to search for contents using TiVo’s voice remote.
In case you are wondering about other popular streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, TiVo has confirmed that Sling TV will be the only internet-based TV service available with Stream 4K at launch. As a result, it will be interesting to see how popular TiVo’s offerings become in the coming months.
As for TiVo+, the company has announced 23 more channels to the existing lineup including a number of news channels such as USA Today, Cheddar, and Top Stores by Newsy; Glamour, Bon Appetit, Traveler and GQ. As the channels are set to arrive to customers over the next couple of weeks, it’s likely that the new service will become popular in the coming months.
