After years of anticipation, Disney’s Frozen 2 finally hit the theaters back in November last year and crossed coveted $1 billion mark shortly afterwards. And now, the movie has brought in another $11.3 million meaning the movie is officially the highest grossing animated movies of all time.
If you have been a fan of the original movie, then the latest achievement shouldn’t surprise you. After all, Frozen held the title for being the highest grossing animated movies of all time for a long time. As a result, Disney had quite a bit of high expectations when it comes for the sequel. Thankfully, the movie hasn’t disappointed both fans and critics. As a result, it crossed the billion-dollar mark in a short period of time.
With Frozen 2’s success, 2019 marks one of the best years for Disney as the movie joins several other releases in the club. Just few months earlier, The Lion King remake made $1.65 billion at the box office along with Avengers: Endgame becoming the biggest movies of all time. As of now, The Rise of the Skywalker is going pretty strong and has made over $900 million in the global box office.
