PUBG Has Reportedly Lost Over 80 Percent of Its Players in Last 22 Months

As battle royale genre has become extremely popular over last couple of years, increased number of companies have released their titles to attract more gamers. For instance, EA released Apex Legends earlier this year and went on to endure major success with the title and the publisher continues to release new contents on a regular basis. While PUBG was of the most popular titles few years earlier with Fortnite being the only real competitor in the genre, a recent report from TalkEsport has revealed that the game has lost over 80 percent of its players since the start of 2018.

According to the report, PUBG had 1,584,886 concurrent players at the start of 2018. However, due to several unpopular changes, the number has dropped down to roughly 288,848. That means about 82 percent players have decided to move on to other games. This isn’t surprising considering the game has mixed reviews on Steam and popular streamers like Shroud have voiced their disappointment with the game.

As mentioned earlier, although battle royale genre is extremely popular, players right now have plenty of options to keep them interested. Although Fortnite remains to be the most popular title, Apex Legends isn’t a long way behind.

Although the developers are working on to introduce changes, it’s unlikely that we will see the title being as popular as it was few years earlier.
