Nvidia Will Reportedly Unveil RTX 3080 at Computex 2020

Although rumors for a while has suggested that Nvidia will unveil its next generation of RTX cards at the end of this year, it’s highly unlikely that we will get a glimpse into the RTX 3000 series of cards. Interestingly, Chris Caso has claimed that we might get the next generation of Nvidia cards in mid-2020.

According to Caso, Nvidia was initially set to unveil the cards later this year. However, due to RTX Super cards’ release, the company has decided to delay the release of the next generation of RTX cards. As a result, Caso has claimed that Nvidia will unveil next iterations of RTX cards at Computex 2020 which will be held sometime around June.

While we will have to wait to find out if that’s the case, Caso went on to further claim that the upcoming graphics cards will also feature Nvidia’s Ampere architecture which the chip manufacturer expects to showcase at its GTC event in San Jose. Additionally, Nvidia will unveil RTX 3080 which will serve as the successor to RTX 2080.

Despite the rumors, there hasn’t been any details related to the upcoming cards. But given how Nvidia has boasted about ray-tracing with the current generation of RTX cards, it’s highly likely that the main focus will be on improving the technology. Apart from this, the upcoming card will feature faster GPU and clock speed while improving energy efficiency.

If Nvidia indeed releases the graphics card later next year, we should learn more about the card in the coming months leading up to the event.
