When Iron Man came out back in 2008, few would predict that the movie would start Marvel’s dominations in box office for years to come. While a lot of fans have argued over the years that Disney’s acquisitions of Marvel and other studios would ruin the creative flows, recently Kevin Feige claimed that Disney’s acquisition was best thing ever happened to Marvel.
Feige’s comments regarding Marvel’s acquisition came during a recent podcast with The Hollywood Reporter when he claimed that Disney’s acquisition was one of the key reasons Marvel went on to create so many great movies over last few years. His comments came as he responded to claims that Disney had ruined Marvel and other properties.
“It was the greatest thing that ever happened to us. If Disney hadn’t bought us, you wouldn’t have seen the movies we’ve made since then. For sure. I just don’t think it would have been possible,” Feige said.
The complaints against Disney aren’t particularly surprising considering fans aren’t really thrilled with the studio’s treatments of several fan favorite franchises over last couple of years. However, Feige explained that the biggest difference while working with Disney compared to other partners was that Disney was behind its projects throughout the years.
