Although we had to wait a while, the original Home and Home Mini speakers now have the ability to connect with a second smart speaker to bring stereo sound and wider soundstage.
You might recall that Google added the support to Home Max earlier and followed with the support to connect with Insignia’s Assistant-enabled smart speakers as well. However, the latest nest Mini smart speaker will support the technology out of the box.
If you are interested in setting up a pair, you will need to open the Google Home app on your smartphone and then tap on the speakers that you want to paid. Afterwards, you will need to tap on settings and find the ‘Speaker Pair’ option. From there, you will be able to tweak settings to meet your needs.
Although you will be able to pair two speakers to use them as one, note that you will be able to use Google assistant for only one as Google Assistant will be disabled at the right speaker. As you can imagine, if you want to use the Assistant on the right speaker, you will need to unpair the speakers and you will be able to use assistant on both of them as usual.
