Amazon Confirms Its Looking for Actor to Reprise Jack Reacher in the Upcoming Series

It seems that Aquaman: King of Atlantis miniseries is in fact coming in HBO Max with James Wan serving as a producer for the upcoming animated miniseries. In case you didn’t know, Warner Bros. has ordered the three-part animated series that is currently in the works. While the story of the upcoming miniseries is unknown, it will take place after the events of Aquaman movie. As a result, it makes a lot of sense to get Wan to produce the upcoming series. As of now, the Aquaman: King of Atlantis will begin with Arthur Curry’s first day as the king of Atlantis following the movie’s events. Sarah Aubrey, head of original content for HBO Max, recently said http://deadline.com/2020/01/aquaman-king-of-atlantis-hbo-max-greenlights-james-wans-animated-mini-series-1202831114/ , "This DC property is a fan-favorite rich with well-known characters and dynamic storylines. On the heels of Warner Bros. Pictures' box office smash hit, we are certain Aquaman: King of Atlantis will be an exciting addition to our already robust slate of kids and family programming." As mentioned earlier, it’s unclear how the upcoming animated series will proceed the story. Moreover, as Aquaman 2 is currently preparing to go into production, it’ll be interesting to see if the miniseries directly leads to Aquaman 2. While we don’t know for sure who will be voicing characters in the upcoming series, it won’t be a major shock if the cast members of the movie give voices to the characters for the animated series as well. At the moment, we don’t know a lot of details regarding the upcoming series. But as we move forward, we should learn more about Aquaman: King of Atlantis over the next couple of months.

Microsoft Wins Pentagon’s JEDI Contract

To everyone’s surprise, Microsoft has beaten Amazon to win the $10 billion Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) cloud contract from the US Department of Defense.

This latest news comes after earlier last year, Microsoft employees discouraged the company from placing a bid for the contract. At the time, employees of the company expressed their concerns that Microsoft’s technologies might be used for waging war. However, Microsoft defended its decision to place the bid by saying, “we believe in the strong defense of the United States and we want the people who defend it to have access to the nation’s best technology, including from Microsoft”.

In the official statement, the Department of Defense has said, “Over the last two years the Department of Defense has awarded more than $11 billion across 10 separate cloud contracts. As we continue to execute the DOD Cloud Strategy, additional contracts are planned for both cloud services and complementary migration and integration solutions necessary to achieve effective cloud adoption.”

“Today the Department of Defense has taken another step forward in the implementation of our Cloud Strategy with the award of an enterprise general-purpose cloud contract to Microsoft.  This continues our strategy of a multi-vendor, multi-cloud environment as the department’s needs are diverse and cannot be met by any single supplier. This contract will address critical and urgent unmet warfighter requirements for modern cloud infrastructure at all three classification levels delivered out to the tactical edge.”

“This award is the conclusion of a process that began with the release of the first RFI to industry nearly two years ago. Throughout that time, the department’s focus never wavered from the need to support our warfighters with this essential capability.”

“The acquisition process was conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The process cleared review by the GAO and Court of Federal Claims.  At the outset the competition included four different offerors.  All offerors were treated fairly and evaluated consistently with the solicitation’s stated evaluation criteria. Prior to the award, the department conferred with the DOD Inspector General, which informed the decision to proceed.”

“The base contract period is two years with a $1 million guarantee.  The department projects that user adoption will drive an estimated $210 million of spending during the two year base period. The DOD will rigorously review contract performance prior to the exercise of any options.”

“The Department continues to assess and pursue various cloud contracting opportunities to diversify the capabilities of the DoD Enterprise Cloud Environment. Additional contracting opportunities are anticipated.”
