If you have followed the news leading up to the release of Fortnite Chapter 2, then you already know that a large number of players already knew about the title due to numerous leaks prior to the release. And now, Epic Games is taking action against a user experience tester who broke the non-disclosure agreement by revealing details of the title.
Epic Games filed a lawsuit at a North Carolina earlier on Friday claiming that Ronald Sykes spoiled the surprises the company had planned for the community. The company said, “He did so at the expense of Epic and those in the Fortnite community who were anxiously awaiting the new season of Fortnite only to have some of Epic’s planned surprises spoiled by Sykes’ leaks.”
In case you didn’t know, the person in question played the new contents back in late September. Shortly afterwards, he revealed to another Twitter user about the upcoming title. Moreover, he went on to share an image of the new map. As a result, the company is now asking for injunctive relief and maximum damages for Skye’s alleged breach of contract and “misappropriation” of trade secrets.
