We had to wait years for CD Projekt Red’s official announcement for Cyberpunk 2077 and if the early impressions are anything to go by, then the title will be one of the biggest releases next year. If you were wondering if you will need to wait long to get another Cyberpunk release in future following Cyberpunk 2077, you’d be glad to know that the developers recently confirmed that they are working on three additional titles set for release over next couple of years.
In a recent statement made to Bankier (via IGN), CD Projekt President, Adam Kiciński confirmed that the company is working on the future installments in the Cyberpunk franchise.
According to the report, the first of these titles, Cyberpunk 2077 will come later next year. Although details are unknown, another developer team is currently working on a multiplayer mode for the game. While it’s unclear if CDPR is working on a sequel, Vice President Piotr Nielubowicz confirmed that another project in the franchise is already in the works. He said, “Our next big project will also be in the ‘cyberpunk’ universe, and we’re already working on it and treating it as a really big and innovative project for us.”
Although we are still months away from the release of the title, Cyberpunk 2077 will break some records after its release and it will be massive surprise if the publisher doesn’t announce another installment in the coming years. However, we’ll have to wait to find out more from the company as CDPR is pretty notorious for releasing sequels as you might have already seen with The Witcher series.
