Although Xiaomi doesn’t quite fall under the category of premium smartphone manufacturers, the company has brought great affordable handsets over the years. Interestingly, recent rumors have suggested that the company is currently working on a smartphone with world’s first 64MP camera.
Recently, XDA Developers discovered a hidden code inside the company’s Play Store app. The outlet discovered a line of code in the camera kit for MIUI10 which is Xiaomi’s UI for its smartphones. Surprisingly, the code contains multiple lines referencing to a 64MP camera although we haven’t heard anything related to new smartphones from the company in recent months.
While we will have to wait to find out if the report is accurate, it won’t be surprising if Xiaomi releases a smartphone with 64MP camera sensor. Few weeks earlier, Samsung unveiled world’s first 64MP camera sensor and it’s unclear if Samsung will bring the camera sensor with any of its upcoming device anytime soon. At that time, reports claimed that Samsung might debut the sensor with mid-range Galaxy A70 in the coming months.
Since then, there hasn’t really been any development regarding the camera sensor. If Xiaomi releases upcoming Xiaomi Mi10 with 64MP camera, then it’ll certainly get some attention from everyone. In case Xiaomi decides to do so, we are more than likely to get more details regarding the upcoming smartphone.
