Over last several years, WhatsApp introduced several new features in an attempt to push the app to even more users. In order to improve privacy of the popular messaging app, the company has now decided to launch a feature which will prevent others from adding non-contacts in a group. Furthermore, the app is also testing a new feature that disables the save feature of the profile pictures for non-contacts.
The latest feature is available in the beta version of the app where users can’t save images anymore unless they are also in the other person’s contact list. This marks another important step for the app as in a recent beta, the app disabled the option to take screenshot of a conversation.
At the moment, there’s no confirmation regarding when or if the app will bring the feature. As mentioned earlier, the feature is available on beta version of WhatsApp for both iOS and Android. Apart from this, the iOS beta version of the messaging app also brings several improvements in video streaming and group photo downloads.
This latest news comes after WhatsApp recently announced that the popular messaging service will start showing advertisements within the app from next year.
