Shazam is an extremely popular app among music lovers as the app allows users to find out name and artists of a song without much problem. However, the app wouldn’t work in case the song is playing directly in your smartphone when you’re using another app. Interestingly, the company has announced a new feature which should work in case you were looking for such solution.
You should note that the recently announced feature, called, “Pop Up Shazam”, is an Android only feature. The company notes, “When Pop Up Shazam is switched on, you will see a persistent notification in you notification drawer. This notification will be used to trigger the floating button. Just tap on it and you will see the Shazam button appear. To Shazam tap on the button and we will tell you the result wherever you are.”
In case you are wondering how to use the feature, you should note that if you are watching something on a site using your device, you will need to press the floating Shazam button and the app will try to identify the song.
At the moment, the feature is available to Android users only but should make its way to iOS users in the coming weeks.
