Although we are months away from the release of Wonder Woman 1984, there has been no shortage of interests and rumors regarding the upcoming movie. Although we don’t know a whole lot about the plot of the upcoming movie, Chris Pine is set to return for his role as Steve Trevor as we learned from set images released by Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot earlier. Recently, Jenkins revealed why she brought back the character in the upcoming movie.
During her recent interview with THR, the director talked about the upcoming movie and I Am the Night which will see Jenkins and Pine working together again. When asked why Pine will be returning to the sequel of 2017 movie, she said, “I’ve had it happen with several actors where you really get up to speed and you know that person, so you see this incredible skill that they’re of. So you can spin them this way, and that’s fun. You can spin them that way. Chris and I definitely have that. I also think that he has a bunch of dimensions of him that I haven’t quite seen him get to explore. Now, at this point, I’m feeling like I just want to keep working with so many of the same actors because it is so fun.”
However, Jenkins didn’t’ reveal anything more on how Trevor will come back from the dead in the upcoming movie. The most popular theory at the moment is that Diana Prince will seek out Maxwell Lord during the course of the movie as Lord will have some powers to bring back the dead.
Back in 2017, Wonder Woman became a huge commercial and critical success and the sequel was set to arrive in theater this November. However, Warner Bros. delayed the movie for summer release and recently, Jenkins turned to Twitter to reveal poster for the upcoming movie. As we move forward, more details of the movie will surely come out.
