In a recent announcement, Netflix has revealed that it has ordered a hidden camera prank show called Prank Encounters.
According to the company, the show has been in works for a long time and will finally make its debut later in 2019. While we don’t know a lot about the upcoming show, the company confirmed that Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo will host the show and serve as an executive producer alongside Howard Owens’ Propagate and Ben Silverman.
Netflix’s confirmation came shortly after Deadline reported that the Stanger Things actor will be hosting the show. According to the report, the series will feature two complete strangers who think they are starting their first day at the new job. However, everything will take another turn when both of the strangers meet for the first time.
Netflix has ordered total of eight episodes for the first season of the show. However, the company hasn’t revealed when it’ll be released apart from saying later this year.
The upcoming reality show will join a number of Netflix’s original reality shows including Ultimate Beastmaster, Cooking on High, Queer Eye, Street Food and The Chef Show.
