LG introduced world’s “first 88-inch 8K OLED TV” during this year’s CES back in January. While at the time the release date wasn’t known, the company has started to take pre-orders for the 88-inch OLED TV.
The latest OLED television, model 88Z9 comes with a 7680×4320 resolution or in other words 33 million pixels. If you were interested in purchasing the television though, you will be disappointed to know that the company will take pre-orders for the product only in South Korea at the moment. However, it revealed that it will become available in the North America later part of this year.
While the company didn’t include prices of the television, it responded to The Verge where it reveals the 88-inch television will retail for around $42,000. However, those who are ordering the television during the pre-order will get the product for $34,000 along with a free air purifier.
As for contents, unless a studio has produced a video content for 8K television, you won’t be able to see it. However, LG says that the Z9 provides the most lifelike pictures. Additionally, the Z9 comes with Dolby Atmos to provide realistic sound and can provide 5.1 virtual surround sounds. Due to the popularity of digital assistant, the company revealed that the product will support Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa straight out of the box in certain region.
