Earlier last week, HTC’s Facebook page teased that the company might release a new smartphone in the coming weeks. And now, the company has announced U19e, a smartphone targeted towards mid-range markets.
The HTC U19e will come with standard Snapdragon 710 processor coupled with a 6GB RAM. While we will have to wait to find out how it performs, at the moment the smartphone seems pretty similar to the Pixel 3a. As for display, the U19e includes a 6-inch 2160×1080 OLED display. Interestingly, the smartphone features a pretty large battery with 3,930 mAh capacity.
In addition to above mentioned hardware, the upcoming smartphone will also feature a 12MP camera with a 20MP 20MP f/2.6 telephoto lens. Moreover, the smartphone will also feature two front facing cameras which will feature facial unlock.
At the moment, it’s unclear when the smartphone will be available for purchase. However, it won’t be cheap compared to other similar smartphones as it’ll has a $475 price tag in Taiwan at the moment. Given Huawei’s recent struggles, it’ll be interesting to see if HTC can gain some customers with its latest release.
