In a recent blog post earlier today, Google announced new updates to its SOS Alerts System to help people in affected areas during natural disasters.
The company revealed that the upcoming updates will include information such as when a hurricane will pass through an area. Apart from this, if you are travelling during a storm, Google will also give you a real-time direction to keep you safe from affected areas.
As for earthquakes, Google will use crisis cards which will allow you to share your locations more easily during such crisis. Moreover, in such cases, you will be able to use the share buttons on the crisis cards to update your contacts about your locations or see how you can move faster.
Google revealed that it expects to release some of the features in the coming weeks although several others might take until end of the summer to arrive for users of different devices. Crisis cards should be available to users in the next couple of weeks.
