In a recent update, Google has revealed that the company will stop supporting Trips from August 5 of this year.
Trips was first introduced by Google back in 2016 to provide users a detailed planning functionality for an upcoming travel. In the note, Google pointed out that the normal web service will serve as a replacement of Trips. However, unlike Trips, you will need to give Google permission to track your web and app history in order to get similar features to Trips’.
As for discontinuation, this is far from the first product Google killed off this year. Recently the company killed off the consumer version of Google+ and is set to end support for hangouts later in October.
