Google Set to Acquire Looker for $2.6 Billion

In a recent announcement earlier today, Google has revealed that it will be acquiring data analytics firm Looker in an attempt to expand its Cloud business offerings.

In the press release, the search engine giant revealed that both of the companies are already working together and share about 350 customers including some of the major internet companies. As a result, the acquisition will give Google’s customers more ways to use the data.

This latest news comes as Cloud Computing has become extremely competitive in the recent years with companies like Amazon, Microsoft and IBM doubling down their efforts to attract more customers.

While there’s no definitive date at the moment, the deal is expected to be completed later this year.
