While Facebook can be pretty useful to stay connected with friends and family, it can be a powerful tool to reach more people. However, if you go through comments on popular public posts, you will find the experience extremely frustrating due to lack of meaningful comments. In order to solve the problem, Facebook has introduced a new feature to make the comments of public posts more engaging.
In a recently published blog post, Facebook unveiled ranking of comments feature. It says, “We’re always working to ensure that people’s time on Facebook is well spent. One way we do this is through ranking, which promotes meaningful conversations by showing people the posts and comments most relevant to them.”
With the changes, when you go through a public post, you will now see comments which interacts with posters at the top. While we will have to wait to see how the feature works within the social network, the company said that it the original poster responds to a comment, it will make its way to the top. Apart from that, users’ comments from friends and family will also be in the top of a public post.
In the post, Facebook revealed several measures it will take to ensure comments’ impact on a post. However, we will have to wait to see if the changes in fact make the public posts engaging.
