Cyberpunk 2077 remains to be one of the most anticipated games of last couple of years ever since CD Projekt Red dropped the teaser. While everyone is expecting an official release date of the game during E3, it seems more than likely that we won’t be getting the game until next year.
This latest news comes according to Jason Schreier who recently tweeted out that the game won’t be coming this year. After fan asked whether or not the game is coming out in November, Schreier responded, “Idk where you saw that rumor but Cyberpunk is absolutely not coming out this year.”
Whether or not CD Projekt Red announces the release date of the highly anticipated title during E3 remains to be seen. However, it won’t be surprising if the game doesn’t come out this year. Back in April, a job listing in the studio made fans go wild with speculations and this year’s supposed release date is a result of that. At the time, the listing said, “We’re looking for a quality-focused and well-organized Release Manager to support us on our current and upcoming projects and to take part in the coordination of all global product releases.
“As release manager you will cooperate and communicate with all stakeholders from the CD Projekt involved in the release and take active part in organizing whole process. It includes submissions to first-party console manufacturers, oversee compliance certification process and working with partners on publishing process on multiple platforms.”
As we eagerly wait to hear something from the studio itself, speculations surfaced on internet that the game will be set on an alternative timeline. However, Mike Pondsmith confirmed it won’t be the case either. Given that it has been over five years since we first got to see the teaser of the game, the announcement will certainly take internet by storm in case CD Projekt Red decides to announce the release date in upcoming days as we approach E3.
