Lucifer’s Showrunner Asks Fans to Not Start a Campaign to Save the Show

When Fox cancelled Lucifer following season 3, fans started a campaign to save the show. Surprisingly, Netflix picked up the show and season 4 premiered earlier last month. While the series became one of the most popular in terms of binge watching upon its release, Netflix surprised everyone by confirming that season 5 will be Lucifer’s last season. Since then, some fans started similar campaigns to save the show once more. However, it seems that everyone involving the show has taken the matter differently this time around.

In a recent tweet, executive producer Ildy Modrovich wrote that the ending will be different this time around as all parties involved with the show took the decision to end the show with the upcoming season. She sent out the following tweet.

While fans will be disappointed with the show’s ending, it’s great to see that everyone involving the show isn’t looking to find another network although it is highly unlikely that another network will pick up the show.

Lucifer premiered back in January 2016 on Fox and although Netflix ordered just two seasons, it makes Lucifer the third longest original for Netflix with 77 episodes. Although we don’t know for sure how the writers are planning on ending the last season of the show, it will bring in viewers again as numbers suggested that Lucifer was the most watched show on Netflix when the season premiered.
