Earlier today, Samsung has announced new Exynos i T100 chip which will integrate processor and memory/ With the latest chip focusing Internet of Things (IoT), it will improve security and reliability of products which will ship with the latest chip.
As Internet of Things are becoming increasingly more popular every year, companies are actively looking to improve security and reliability of devices. With the latest chip, Samsung is targeting devices which need short-range communications. As a result, the chip comes with support for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.0 and Zigbee 3.0.
In addition to the security, the chip is based on 28-nanometer process which makes it suitable for devices which requires longer uptime. Moreover, the chip can withstand extreme temperature as -40ºC and up to 125ºC.
In a statement, Ben Hur, senior vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics, said, “Low-power short-range IoT solutions that connect various products in our homes or buildings can make our lives easier and safer. The Exynos i T100, engineered with multiple communication protocols along with strong security capabilities, will help further extend IoT services in areas where they could benefit our everyday lives.”
