Although we had confirmation for a long time of upcoming reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise, there hasn’t been a lot  of news regarding the start of the shooting for the movie. thankfully, we finally have a confirmation of the start date of the filming which is set to begin on September 16 later this year.

The latest news comes via Geeks WorldWide. Given the studio announced its plans to shoot the movie in Australia due to the country’s tax incentives, the shooting date makes a lot of sense at the moment.

This should come off as a relief for fans who are eagerly waiting to hear more about the movie. Initially James Wan decided to direct the movie back in 2015. However, the future of the movie was uncertain for a long time and it’s good to see that it is going forward.

At the moment however, there’s no confirmation regarding the cast members of the movie. As the start date of the shooting approaches, more details of the movie are likely to become available. Mortal Kombat is set for March 5, 2021 release date.
