Google’s Music Apps Have over 15 Million Subscribers

Although Spotify remains the most popular application for music among people, a recent report has revealed that Google has over 15 million subscribers across its YouTube Music and Google Play Music services.

While the number might sound really high for music streaming service, you should note that the company confirmed that the number represents paid as well as free promotions or free trials. However, regardless to say, the number suggests that the company has finally found some success with its music streaming business.

In case you’re interested, YouTube music, like other popular music streaming services, costs $9.99 per month for on-demand music streaming. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a family plan, then you’ll be glad to know that the service has a family plan that supports up to six members and costs $14.99 per month. Recently, the company confirmed that YouTube music will be the company’s primary music streaming service once it gets more features similar to Google Play Music with the latter gradually becoming obsolete. However, given YouTube Music isn’t available in markets where Google Music is popular, it’ll be interesting to see how Google moves along with its plan in the coming months.

As for other music streaming services, Apple Music currently has over 50 million subscribers while Spotify has over 100 million subscribers.
