Google Duo Brings Several New Features with Latest Update

Although Google has failed to attract consumers with its social media related application and service, Google Duo received praise among users since its launch back in 2016. The search engine giant has introduced several new features since its release and earlier today, the app has received multiple features in an update.

Similar to other popular video calling apps, Google Duo will now let up to 8 users to join a group video calling session. Like other services of the app, the group calls are end-to-end encrypted. Apart from that, the app also introduces a “data saving” mode for users in markets where internet data might be more expensive. If you enable it, the app reduces data usage of all the people in a call. The company revealed that it will release the feature in more countries in the coming months.

In addition to these, you can now personalize your video messages. Thanks to the new addition, users will be able to add text, emojis and drawings on video messages. However, there hasn’t been any changes to the duration of the video messages as an individual video message can be up to 30 seconds long.

The update has started to reach users on a rolling basis. As a result, don’t freak out if you don’t receive the update immediately.
