Earlier last month, Samsung filed a trademark for a location-based social network called ‘Uhssup’. However, since then, we haven’t heard anything related to the upcoming service and if a new report to be believed, then Samsung might launch the new social network alongside Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ later this week.
The latest news comes from a report out in Korea which claimed that the upcoming service will be a location-based social network which will allow users to share location in real-time as well as comment on other users’ locations. The service is similar to the features currently offered by WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. As a result, it’s unclear how Samsung is planning on attracting users to the upcoming service.
Apart from the news that Samsung might launch the new service alter this week, the report didn’t reveal any other detail about the service. As a result, we will have to wait to find out if Samsung indeed launches the service ahead of Mobile World Congress. As we are pretty close to the event, it’s unlikely that Samsung will confirm anything related to the service ahead of the event.
