New Deal Will See eSports Teams Using Discord as the Official Chat App

Over last couple of years, Discord has become on the most popular communications app among gamers. While the app has grown over the years, Discord wants to take next step towards dominating the market as it recently announced a new partnership with several eSports teams to become their official chat app.

Thanks to the latest deal, professor teams such as Team Liquid and DreamHack will use Discord as their official chat App within Overwatch League. Discord launched the program yesterday and revealed that fans can chat with each other as well as their favorite teams.

Shortly afterwards, Team Liquid released a statement where it wrote, “When it came to making a decision on what voice communication software Team Liquid would use to communicate and create community with our fans, there was no question that Discord was the obvious choice. There’s simply nothing that rivals the quality of the product.”
