If early results are anything to go by, then Marvel’s Black Panther is set to smash several box office records over next couple of weeks. While we will have to wait couple more weeks to find that out, recently Kevin Feige talked to Variety as he discussed the possibility of Black Panther Sequels.
During the interview, Feige was asked if Marvel is currently working on a sequel. In response, he said, “We always say we work on one movie at a time. If you have any good ideas, put it in the movie you’re making. If you don’t, you might not be able to make another one. That said, Panther has been around for more than half a century in the comic books and there are many, many stories to tell…”
Feige’s latest comments shouldn’t come off as a surprise given how the studio is handling rumors lately. At the moment, apart from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Spider-Man, the studio hasn’t confirmed other movies with Black Widow still in the discussion. With Avengers 4 coming out next year, it’s understandable that the studio is working in this manner as confirming future movies might provide minor spoilers for the upcoming movie.
As for Black Panther, the movie currently holds 97 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. With the movie set to shatter box office records in the coming weeks, there’s no doubt that we will get Black Panther 2 in the future.
