For better part of this year, Intel has been in news due to its attempt to fix Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities. Recently, the company has released another patch to address Spectre for all processors starting from 6th generation.
Like previous releases, Intel’s latest patch won’t go to consumers directly as OEMs will incorporate the update to their products in the coming days.
This is a welcome relief for everyone as the previous releases have caused system instability. For instance, earlier last month, users complained that installing the update containing the patch would make their computer freeze. At the time, Intel told users not to install the update as it continued to work on new patch to fix the issues.
