During a recent interview, Heath Ledger’s sister Kate has revealed that the actor was planning on returning as the Joker.
During the interview, Kate revealed that the actor was extremely happy with both Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale as he shared stories of working on the movie. She said, “He was so proud of what he had done in Batman. And I know he had plans for another Batman. He loved working with Chris Nolan and Christian Bale and Gary Oldman. He just had the best time ever doing that film. When he came home at Christmas he couldn’t wait to tell us all about it and he was doing the voice and laughing, showing me all the rushes. We had a great time.”
While everyone till date praises Ledger’s performance as the Joker till date, Kate revealed that the actor went extra mile to prepare for the iconic character. She continued, “He pretty well locked himself up in a hotel room for weeks. He galvanized the upcoming character. That was typical of Heath. He would do that. He liked to dive into his characters, but this time he really took it up a notch.”
These recent comments confirm that The Dark Knight would be significantly different movie if the actor hadn’t passed away. Due to his incredible performance as the Joker, Heath Ledger went on to win Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor following his death.
