Googles Motion Still App Brings Augmented Reality to Android Smartphones

AR and VR technologies are two of the hottest trends at the moment as major tech companies continue to bring different products. Earlier last December, Google Pixel 2 owners received Android 8.1 update that brought Google’s AR stickers which use ARCore technology. At that time, Pixel 2 owners were able to insert R2-D2 as well as several other animated characters directly into their surroundings. And now, the company has released Motion Stills app which brings similar features to smartphones which are running Android 5.1 or later.

In case you are note familiar with the app, Motion Stills was built to give users ability to edit video clips and GIFs. Thanks to the latest update, you can now insert 3D objects into frame before recording. As we go forward, we are likely to encounter more of similar features for Android smartphone users.
