For a while now, Google has been releasing its lightweight apps under the name Go to cater budget consumers. If you are wondering if the company is planning on releasing its own smartphones based on these apps anytime soon, then you will be glad to know that Google revealed its plans to bring new smartphones in near future.
Google announced the latest news via an official blog post earlier today as it revealed that it will be unveiling smartphones powered by Android Oreo (Go Edition) and Android One later next week at Mobile World Congress. While we will have to wait to find out how the company’s upcoming smartphones will perform, the search engine giant revealed that some of the upcoming smartphones will cost less than $50 thanks to lightweight nature of Go.
The latest news is certainly interesting considering that several other companies launched their smartphones with similar price tag over last couple of years. For instance, rumors suggested that Micromax is planning on releasing budget smartphones for Indian consumers in near future.
Luckily, we don’t need to wait much longer as the Mobile World Congress is just around corner. Apart from upcoming smartphones, it will be certainly interesting to see if the company introduces more products during the event.
