In order to solve the confusion regarding its numerous payment options, Google earlier last month revealed that it will combine both Android Pay and Google Wallet to bring unified payment solution. Now, the company has started rolling out the new Google pay app to replace both payment solutions.
The latest news comes via an official blog post as the company revealed that the latest release is just one part of future products. In the blog post, the company noted that it is currently working on bringing Google Pay to all Google products in future as well as several partners. The company notes, “Whether you’re shopping on Chrome or with your Assistant, you’ll have a consistent checkout experience using the cards saved to your Google Account.”
As of now, people living in Kiev, London, and Portland can use Google Pay for transit related service with more cities will be added to the list soon. The company said, “If you live in the US or the UK, you’ll be able to use it to send and request money within the next few months.”
“In the meantime, the Wallet app is now called Google Pay Send, and we’re giving it a fresh coat of paint to go with the Google Pay brand.”
