Thanks to the Disney’s latest deal to acquire Fox, X-Men franchise is set to bring some of the most memorable movies in the coming years. While there is no news regarding how Disney will take on several high profile characters in the coming years, recently, X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner revealed that he will be happy to work with Marvel.
During the interview, he said, “Sure, why not? Look, it’s 18 months away, so who knows. For me, I think Bob Iger is one of the smartest men in the country. Alan Horn’s an old friend. Kevin Feige was my intern and assistant and then my associate producer on the first X-Men. Kevin and I started the X-Men together, so for me if we work with Kevin, I’m happy.”
In case you are wondering, following his graduation from USC, Kevin Feige started to work for Lauren Shuler Donner. Following his initial success with the first X-Men movie in 2000, Feige went on to serve as producer in other Marvel movies before he was named president of production for Marvel Studios back in 2007. While it will be great to see Feige’s take on other comic books, it is still early days to speculate other movies.
At the moment, X-Men movies have certainly taken different route considering next movie in the franchise will be set in the 90s although there is a possibility of bringing the timeline to present day to merge with other movies set in MCU. While there is no details about how other comic book properties will be used to integrate them into MCU, fans are likely to see the Disney’s first take on the X-Men franchise in next couple of years.
