Although group chat is one of the best ways to stay connected with your friends and family members, it can get pretty messy and spammy at times. In order to solve the problem, WhatsApp few months earlier introduced a ‘Mention’ feature to let you know when someone in a group is talking to you. However, at the moment, there was no option to set notification to track conversion. Thankfully, the application has introduced the feature to the latest beta for Android.
Thanks to the latest feature, users now will be able to track different conversations without much work from their side. Moreover, in order to see the notifications, you will need to open the app as they aren’t like the ones you are used to receive when someone sends you a message. When the feature becomes available, you will need to open up the group chat and you will see number of mentions at the bottom of the screen. If you tap on the button, it will take you to the first mentioned message. Afterwards, you can continue to tap until you reach the end of the mention.
While we might have to wait a bit before the feature becomes available, it will be a welcome addition nevertheless. As the group messages can get crowded from time to time, a standalone notification for mention will save users time to navigate through messages. However, at the moment there is no word on when the feature will become available to the public.
