In an attempt to bring a unified way to watch contents from paid-TV and streaming services, earlier last week, TiVo announced an app based, cloud-powered platform.
The company revealed that the latest platform will let cable operators to provide personalized control to their consumers. In addition to this, the new platform will integrate linear, OTT, on-demand, and DVR content. As a result, service providers will be able to “reduce churn, drive customer engagement, stay ahead of the competition and own the customer experience by bringing calm to a world of increasing entertainment chaos.”
Michael Hawkey, SVP and general manager of user experience at TiVo revealed in a statement, “Consumers face a fragmented, ever-changing media landscape as new services, content sources and devices continue to proliferate. Media companies are compelled to evolve. TiVo’s Next-Gen Platform is specifically designed to meet the consumer’s insatiable desire for entertainment while enabling operators to maintain market share and remain relevant amid growing competition.”
The company announced that at the moment the platform will deliver contents to devices like Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV in addition to managed set-top boxes. The company will showcase the new platform at CES later this week.
