Few weeks earlier, US president Donald Trump signed a new policy which asked NASA to send humans to the moon. Now, ahead of the space agency’s budget request for upcoming fiscal year, NASA is expected to reveal its plans to send humans to Moon once again.
While there’s not a lot of details available at the moment, NASA is expected to use the agency’s new Space Launch System to accomplish the goal. Recently, Nasa’s Acting Administrator, Robert Lightfoot hinted at significant plans earlier last week during his appearance at the civil space forum for the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
He said, “We’re getting ready to embark on a pretty strong lunar exploration program with an eye towards Mars. We’ve been working on the plan. We’ve been working with the administration. I think when the budget comes out folks will see what we’ve been asked to go do and how we think we’re going to do it.”
