Google Will Open AI Research Center in Paris

Earlier on Monday, Google announced that it will be opening a research center in Paris dedicated towards AI based research.

In an official statement, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai said, “The different achievements in this country, including in science, art and the academic field make it an ideal place for the creation of a centre of theoretical research in artificial intelligence.”

This latest announcement comes as French President Emmanuel Macron recently welcomed 140 multinational business leaders to Versailles in Paris ahead of the opening of the World Economic Forum on Tuesday.

Earlier, Facebook announced that the social networking giant will be increasing total number of researchers in the AI center in Paris from 30 to 60 as the company wants to accelerate progress in artificial intelligence related field.
