Google to Combine Its Payment Ecosystem into One Service

If you have used Android pay to purchase something from internet, you might already be familiar with Google’s fragmented payment ecosystem. Thankfully, Pali Bhat, Vice President of Product Management for Payments at Google announced earlier on Monday that Google will be bringing all of the different ways to pay with Google into a single brand named Google Pay.

In case you have used services offered by Airbnb, HungryHouse, Instacart, Dice and Fandango, you might have noticed the Google Pay branding already. Bhat announced that more sites will soon start supporting the payment system in the coming weeks. He said, “With Google Pay, it’ll be easier for you to use the payment information saved to your Google Account, so you can speed through checkout with peace of mind.”

Afterwards, he went on to reveal that bringing all of the payment fragmentations together to form one solution is just the first step for the service. However, at the moment, he didn’t reveal more details of the service. As the search engine giant is likely to introduce the service in the coming weeks, more details are likely to follow.
