Shortly after filming of Deadpool 2 was finished, 20th Century Fox started marketing campaign for upcoming sequel last year. While there hasn’t been a lot of actual footage from the movie, fans already know which characters are set to appear in the upcoming movie. However, at the moment, we don’t know a lot regarding the plot. But, it is set to change as a new report from Collider has revealed that we might see some real footage of the movie next month for the opening of Marvel’s Black Panther.
This latest news comes shortly after the studio confirmed that Deadpool 2 is premiering on May 18th, 2018 instead of June 1st. While the reason for scheduling change is unknown, it’s likely that the studio didn’t want to get in competition with Solo: A Star Wars Story and Infinity War. Thanks to the latest release date, the movie will now premier in the middle of two movies which should give it enough time to meet the box office expectations.
However, it will be worthwhile to see how the upcoming movie performs at the box office shortly after release of Infinity War which is arguably the most anticipated movie of the year. Despite that, it’s fair to assume that the movie will do pretty well in the box office if the success of the first movie is any indication. At the moment, we will have to wait to find out more related to the story of the sequel. With the trailer coming in next couple of weeks, luckily, we don’t need to wait forever.
