While there is not a lot of news regarding production of Avengers 4, Chris Hemsworth recently finished shooting his scenes for the upcoming movie which is set to end his current contract with Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, if we take the actor’s words, then he is interested in portraying the character in the coming years.
We have known for a while that several actors are finishing up their MCU contracts with the conclusion of Avengers 4. As a result, rumors surfaced that we might not see some of our beloved characters anytime soon after the movie finishes. However, during his recent interview with IGN, the actor revealed that he loves playing the character due to the number of changes Thor has went through since we first saw him in MCU.
He said, “I’ve just, literally two days ago, finished ‘Avengers 4’ and that’s my contract – my preexisting contract is done now, so it’s kind of like, ‘wow, that’s it.’ Two or three films ago I was like, ‘okay, a couple more.’ I was enjoying it but I was like… I felt a little restricted. And after this last experience with Taika, and actually these last two Avengers, I feel like we’ve reinvented the character a number of times – even in these next two, he evolves again, and you don’t get that opportunity often in a franchise. So, I definitely feel a renewed sense of excitement and enthusiasm, and more so than ever, I think.”
Although there is no discussion between him and Marvel for a new deal, it’s likely that we will see him future Marvel movies. As for now, next two years are set to be massive for MCU since we are likely to see some of the most iconic superheroes joining Avengers in the coming years thanks to latest Disney and Fox deal. As for now, there is a distinct possibility that we will see more of Chris Hemsworth in MCU following the events of Avengers 4.
