With CES 2018 just few days away, major manufacturers are slowly unveiling their products. Acer is the first major company to unveil some of its products as the company recently introduced refreshed Swift 7 and Spin 3 laptops.
While we will have to wait to see if other manufacturers introduce thinner laptops, the Swift 7 is likely to remain the world’s thinnest laptop at just under 9mm. In addition to this, acer introduced the laptop as an always-connected PC meaning it will offer cellular connectivity. Interestingly, while other companies have traditionally used Qualcomm’s modems thus far, the Acer Swift 7 will feature an Intel LTE modem to power the feature.
As for specifications, acer is yet to reveal the complete specifications for the latest laptop. However, according to the announcement, the laptop will use a seventh generation Core i7 processor accompanied by 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM and a 256GB PCIe SSD. Acer revealed that the Swift 7 will get up to 10 hours of battery life,
On the other hand, the Spin 3 is a convertible targeted towards budget oriented consumers. However, unlike Swift 7, Spin 3 will feature more powerful eighth-generation processor with reported battery life of up to 12 hours.
However, if you are interested in purchasing one of these laptops, you will have to wait few more weeks as The Swift 7 will be coming to North America in March starting at $1,699 and to EMEA regions in April starting at €1,699. On the other hand, the Spin 3 will be coming to EMEA regions this month starting at €649. Customers located in the United States will have to wait a bit with the laptop becoming available later next month for $599.
