Although Samsung and Apple remain to be two of the biggest smartphones manufacturers in the world, Chinese smartphone manufacturers such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo has become major player in several countries. For example, this year, Xiaomi became the leader of Indian market.
However, it seems that all of these Chinese manufactures are preparing for a slow start for next year. According to a latest report by DigiTimes, Huawei, OPPO and Vivo are cutting down their smartphone orders by over 10 percent for the upcoming year. The report cited information provided by suppliers of the three companies as they are currently producing more smartphones than market demands.
Despite the latest report, Xiaomi’s growth is likely to continue next year as the company’s smartphones are becoming increasingly popular among budget oriented consumers who want best value for their smartphones. For instance, as mentioned earlier, the company took over Samsung to become the most popular smartphone manufacturer in India. Moreover, recent reports have revealed that Xiaomi is in talks with cell phone carriers to bring the company’s smartphones to US market. If the company becomes successful in this pursuit, then Xiaomi’s market share will grow significantly.
As we are nearly at the end of the year and some major smartphones focused events are scheduled in the coming months, we will have to wait to find out if these companies introduce improved smartphones to consumers during the events.
